Welcome to the website of student sailing association De Blauwe Schuit.

De Blauwe Schuit is a sailing association for students of Leiden university and college institutions.
We combine sailing with fun and our activities include instruction camps and sailing days, but also parties, galas and many other activities.

There is no need for any sailing experience to become a member, there are plenty of opportunities to learn it with us. Every Tuesday from 17.00 to 01.00 we have drinks at our building, Zijlstroom 79 in Leiderdorp. You are welcome to join us and meet our members. At these drinks we also make dinner. You can eat with us for € 2,80 by calling 071-5121157 between 17.00 and 17.30 on the Tuesday that you will be present.


Membership fees are € 87,- per year.
Each member has to work for two days for the association once when they become a member. We can't arrange work for members who don't speak Dutch so they will have to pay € 100,- instead.
All members have to help with boat repairs one day per year during the winter, so that the boats stay in perfect condition.

Each year, starting from March, you have a lot of opportunities for sailing instruction to help you obtain the Blauwe Schuit sailing diploma. Once obtained, you can use one of our boats on your own to go sailing or to give instruction to other members.


One of the most important things we do at De Blauwe Schuit is sailing. We have a fleet consisting of 5 "Valken", 6 "Laser 2's" and a small yacht. You can go sailing with these boats once you have obtained the Blauwe Schuit sailing diploma. For 9 euros per day you can sail with it all day. If you have not yet obtained the diploma, you can always get free instruction from other members.
